Reporting to the Clinical Biomedical Laboratory Manager and the Director of the Clinical Biomedical Laboratory, and under the supervision of the Clinical Specialist, the Biological Science Specialist is responsible for performing necessary analyses and related documentation, mainly in the molecular diagnostics laboratory, and will also be responsible to perform activities in the field of specialized histology and histomorphometry. He/she is engaged in the development and implementation of new methodologies and the preparation and review of laboratory reports, and policies and procedures to meet Accreditation Canada, CLIA, CAP and ISO laboratory standards. He/she will be required to function both autonomously and in a team setting to support the Clinical Biomedical Laboratory while targeting clinical, research, and educational components. The incumbent must have meticulous laboratory skills, strong attention to details be at ease to work autonomously and have developed skills for meticulous documentation and interpretation of accreditation standards.
Responsible to perform clinical laboratory activities in the fields of Molecular Diagnostics and Histomorphometry (may include other laboratory disciplines)
