Job Overview

Status: Permanent full-time
Salary: $30.71 to $56.34 per hour

 

We are looking for a Physiotherapist who will be responsible for supporting clinical programs, and to lesser extent research programs, on biomechanical aspects of gait in children with orthopedic, neuromuscular disorders or requiring services related to sports medicine. This person will report to the Manager of the Movement Analysis Center at Shriners Hospital for Children-Canada.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and their families and explain the process of their visit to the Movement Analysis Laboratory;
• Perform various tasks related to the preparation of the patient for the movement assessment such as chart preparation and marker placement;
• Performs clinical tests required to complement the data from the gait analysis;
• Perform kinetic data collection (force platform), kinematic data (Vicon system) and electromyography (EMG) during analysis;
• Perform data interpretation and generation of various reports and statistics for patient medical records, physicians, clinicians and researchers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master's degree in physical therapy;
• Member of l’ordre professionnel de la physiothérapie du Québec ;
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in the field of clinical rehabilitation;
• Minimum of six (6) months experience in the field of movement analysis in a research or clinical context (e.g. use of optoelectronic systems for gait analysis) – an asset.

• Fluency in French written and spoken; capacity to communicate (written and spoken) in English is required in order to support or collaborate with English-speaking clients and/or stakeholders
• Strong communication, interpersonal and analytical skills
• Creative, resourceful, able to work with the unexpected
• Excellent sense of responsibility, priorities and organization
• Versatility in providing clinical care and clinical research
